EU Project for Family Businesses – Milton OOD Modernization

As a well-established textile manufacturer with roots dating back to 1992, Milton Factory focuses on continuous technological innovation. We are proud to present our current eu project support for family businesses, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
“Milton” OOD has concluded a contract for the financing of an investment proposal for grant funding BG16RFPR001-1.004 dated 10.06.2025. The procedure within the Bulgarian Programme “Competitiveness and Innovations in Enterprises” (2021-2027), co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
Procedure Objective & Funding Intensity
The procedure, titled “Support for Family Businesses, Creative Industries, and Crafts,” aimed to encourage investments in production capacity to improve the competitiveness and market presence of eligible enterprises. The program focused on the acquisition of machinery and equipment to implement product or process innovations.
- Funding Intensity: 75% for Family Enterprises and enterprises with main economic activity in the field of creative industries and 85% for Enterprises carrying out activities included in the List of Crafts.
The overall goal of the Milton’s project proposal is to increase the competitiveness and develop the potential for sustainable growth of “Milton” OOD through investments in innovative solutions to increase the production. The implementation of this eu project support for family businesses will contribute to achieving the objective of the procedure: improving production capacity and optimizing business processes in family businesses, creative industries and crafts, and thus contributing to increasing their competitiveness and strengthening their market presence.
Technological Investments & New Machinery
With the implementation of the activities under the project proposal, our company will purchase:
- An additional linear machine for seamless knitting.
- Two specialized machines necessary for the automation of the knitting equipment cleaning process.
This strategic investment will directly increase productivity and optimize technical processes, which will save time and improve the quality of premium products delivered to our worldwide fashion clients.
Sustainable Impact and Green Transition Goals
Beyond expanding physical capacity, this European initiative plays a critical role in our ecological transition. By integrating advanced automation for equipment maintenance, we drastically lower our environmental footprint.
Western European fashion brands now demand high transparency regarding manufacturing waste. This specific investment allows Milton OOD to minimize chemical and water usage during routine machine cleaning cycles, aligning our Bulgarian facility with strict European Green Deal objectives.
Expected Results of the Project
Through this successful eu project support for family businesses, Milton OOD expects to achieve the following operational milestones:
- Increasing production capacity and modernizing the technological park.
- Optimizing and improving production processes while reducing production costs.
- Increasing the quantity and quality of products offered.
- Reducing the time for order fulfillment by up to 15% on an annual basis.
- Improving the working environment and motivation of personnel, automating and facilitating difficult processes, and ensuring a significantly safer working environment.
- Reducing the harmful environmental impact of the knitting machine cleaning process.
